I have two personal experiences I have been wanting to reflect on and share about this group:
First, as some of you know, I represented a former college teammate after he lost his wife days after she delivered their third baby. It was an incredibly tragic case. It was resolved this past spring. Given that the case was in CT and I’m in MA, I reached out to Paul Slager for guidance, sound-boarding, brainstorming, strategizing, you name it. He was incredible in so many ways. Paul is a complete class act and an excellent lawyer. I can’t send enough praise his way because there are too few (particularly lawyers) that don’t want to give even the littlest away without knowing they have something in return. He was genuine in his collaboration with me and deserves my public thanks…. because his expertise, presence in CT and true commitment to helping injury victims is of the best. It is also quite rare. I also share this because it is a reflection of the many quality people that belong to this group.
Second, we filed a relatively high-profile last year and ask for some PR help from Andrew Colton. In a matter of hours, he helped us draft a press release, talking points, coach our clients in how to respond to the media and helped us achieve a great presence on hot button issue across our local market. Similar to Paul, Andrew’s professional expertise is the top of the market, he was responsive immediately trying to brainstorm ways to help and problem solve, generous with his time, and devoted to my success. Again, this is a testament to Andrew as well as it is to the quality of the people in this group.
I have enjoyed getting to know many in the last year and look forward to many more. May we all be turning the corner in putting Covid behind us and overcoming the political chaos that has taken over.
