Peter (Pete) F. Burns, Esq. has over thirty years of experience and success as a civil litigation attorney. His practice includes medical malpractice, legal malpractice, complex business litigation, shareholder derivative suits and will contests, among others.
Mr. Burns graduated from Centre College of Kentucky before attending Cumberland School of Law. At Cumberland, he served as Executive Editor of the Cumberland Law Review, was a member of the Order of Barristers and was a member of the Regional Championship Moot Court team. After graduating cum laude from Cumberland, Mr. Burns was Law Clerk to Alabama Supreme Court Justice Hugh Maddox.
Mr. Burns is licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Supreme Court of Alabama, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth, Sixth and Eleventh Circuits. He is also admitted to practice before the Northern and Southern U. S. District Courts of Alabama. Mr. Burns is a member of the American Bar Association, the Alabama Bar Association, the Mobile Bar Association, the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association, the South Alabama Trial Lawyers Association.
Mr. Burns’ past and/or present civic affiliations include: Current Vice President, Board for Habitat for Humanity; current member, Downtown Mobile Alliance; Chairman of the Board, Mirror Lake Racquet Club; former President, Downtown YMCA; former member, Board of Directors for Municipal Park Baseball; former President, Mary B. Austin Parent/Teacher Association; Leadership Mobile – Class of 2000; former President, Habitat For Humanity; and former member, Board of the Ono Island Property Owners Association.
