Neil was born and raised in Northern Virginia and graduated from the University of Virginia. He then attended Mercer University – Walter F. George School of Law, where he graduated, cum laude. While in law school, he was a leading member of Mercer’s nationally recognized Mock Trial team and, after being sworn in under the Third-Year Practice Act, honed his trial practice skill as a volunteer lawyer for Georgia Justice Project.
Immediately following law school, Neil served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Lamar Sizemore and the Honorable S. Phillip Brown of the Bibb County Superior Court where he drafted judicial orders, attended numerous trials and gained valuable insight into the right way to practice law. After his clerkship, he worked for one of the premier medical malpractice and insurance defense firms in the Atlanta area. Over five years, Neil tried multiple medical malpractice and wrongful death cases. He represented a variety of clients including truck drivers, nurses, health care providers, and even Fortune 500 corporations clients in complex litigation at all phases, from pre-suit investigation through appeal.
At Childers, Schlueter & Smith, Neil’s current practice focuses primarily on representing his clients seriously injured by dangerous drug manufactures, health care providers and other serious personal injury matters, including wrongful death. Through his many diverse experiences in his legal career, Neil has developed a passion and commitment for achieving justice for his clients. His goal is to even the playing field for hard working individuals whose lives have been turned upside down by the selfish acts of the powerful. Neil’s broad experience allows him to represent clients in all types of litigation and strives every day to help those in need.
