Attorney John Meara’s practice areas include complex personal injury litigation, medical negligence litigation, liquor liability litigation and wrongful death litigation.
Attorney Meara graduated from Wabash College (2007) and Roger Williams University School of Law (magna cum laude, 2011), where he was recognized for various moot court accolades, including winning the school’s annual Esther Clark Competition. He was also recognized as Best Oralist at the New England regional qualifier to the National Moot Court Competition and was honored, along with his teammates, with the Best Brief award at the National Moot Court Competition co-hosted by the American College of Trial Lawyers and the New York City Bar Association.
Attorney Meara is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association, the Rhode Island Association for Justice and the Massachusetts Bar Association. Attorney Meara currently serves on the Rhode Island Bar Association’s Superior Court Bench-Bar Committee.
Attorney Meara has been recognized as a Rhode Island Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2016, 2017 2018, 2019 and 2020.
Attorney Meara is admitted in the State Courts for Rhode Island and Massachusetts, as well as the United States Federal District Courts for the District of Rhode Island and Massachusetts, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
Attorney Meara is actively involved in the community and currently serves as President of the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity of Rhode Island – Greater Providence, which is a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, an organization that has built more than 500,000 affordable, decent houses in more than 100 countries worldwide.
