Peter M. Merrigan is a partner at Sweeney Merrigan Law, LLP. He joins his brother, Attorney J. Tucker Merrigan, and father, Thomas T. Merrigan, to form Sweeney Merrigan Law, LLP.
Merrigan has a reputation for producing exceptional results on behalf of his clients by way of negotiation, mediation, arbitration and trial. He is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and focuses on Motor Vehicle Accidents, Personal Injury, Maritime accidents, Wrongful Death, Defective Products, Slip or Trip and Fall incidents, Insurance Disputes, and General Liability accidents.
Merrigan attended New England School of Law where he graduated Cum Laude. While in law school, Merrigan received the Cali Excellence for the Future Award for his excellent achievement in the study of Negotiation and Selected Topics in Constitutional Law. Before graduating from New England School of Law, Merrigan successfully represented the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Rule 3:03 Prosecutor for Suffolk County at the West Roxbury District Court where he served as an Assistant District Attorney at arraignments, pre-trial conferences, motions, bench-trials, and jury trials.
He is currently a member of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, the Boston Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association, and the National Lawyers Guild. He also is a volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Boston. Merrigan graduated from the Loomis Chaffee School before obtaining his Bachelors of Arts Degree from James Madison University in Virginia.
Merrigan is a native of Western, Massachusetts and currently resides in Hingham, Massachusetts with his wife and son.
