- About Us
Founded in 2001, the Injury Board (IB) is an exclusive, invitation-only membership organization composed of leading plaintiff trial attorneys throughout the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and the United Kingdom.
Nearly all of our members currently hold, or have held, leadership positions at the local and/or state trial lawyer association level, or served as president of the American Association for Justice — the trial bar’s national professional organization.
Not coincidentally, IB members are also leaders in their local communities, working with various charities and causes ranging from veterans’ affairs and children’s issues to pro bono work for the disadvantaged.
By the numbers:
- 13 Past, Present & Future American Association for Justice Presidents
- 40+ Governors of the Board of the American Association for Justice (with dozens of former Governors)
- 75+ Past, Present & Future State & Local Trial Lawyer Association Presidents
- 90% of member firms currently have partners who hold or have held leadership positions at a local, state or national trial lawyer association

Tom Young
Injury Board Founder, and Young & Partners, LLP attorney Tom Young, has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for victims of major disasters and product recalls over the past 25 years. Matters include the 2010 BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, the 2015 Volkswagen “diesel-gate” emissions scandal, numerous prescription drug litigations, and the ongoing nationwide opioid epidemic.
Young holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Juris Doctor, with Honors, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. While there, Young was one of the first students awarded a Certificate in Environmental & Land Use Law. Young’s practice includes educating and assisting consumers, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and government entities in understanding their rights regarding losses due to negligence or disaster in both state and federal court.
Recently, Young turned his attention to providing legal services to farmers, groundskeepers, landscapers, gardeners, pesticide applicators and others who allege they developed Non-Hodgkin lymphoma after frequent use of the weedkiller Roundup, or Parkinson’s Disease from the application of Paraquat; victims of Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC) caused by ingestion of certain types of infant formula; various health conditions suffered by service members, their families and others stationed at Marine Corp Base Camp Lejeune; and certain cancers allegedly caused by long-term use of hair relaxing products or talcum powder. In addition to these important public health cases, the firm regularly investigates new matters of concern and works with litigation counsel to file innovative legal actions when appropriate.
Young is a member of the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society, the Golden Key International Honor Society, the State Bar of Arizona, the Florida Bar, the District of Columbia Bar, the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States, the Arizona Association for Justice, the Trial Lawyers Association of Metropolitan Washington, D.C., the Florida Justice Association (past Board Member), and the American Association for Justice (past State Delegate). Young was the 2012-2018 President of the Civil Justice Foundation.
